A huge congratulations to Meredith Meck, our t-shirt design contest winner for the 2024 auction!  Her design, featuring a butterfly, not only captures the spirit of our auction perfectly, but also tells a beautiful story close to her heart.

Meredith created this design in memory of her beloved mother, Kim, who sadly lost her battle with ovarian cancer this past July.  Kim, was a member of the Greencastle community since moving to the area in the 1980’s and spent 34 years working as a paralegal in Waynesboro.

Kim was a force of nature, a master gardener, a dedicated paralegal, but above all, a loving mother and grandmother. ‍‍

Even as she faced stage 3 ovarian cancer, diagnosed in October 2022, Kim's optimism never faded.  Throughout her treatment at Hershey Medical center, she continued to cherish every moment of life, especially the birth of her first grandchild in January, a gift that brought her immense joy.

Meredith's butterfly design symbolizes the carefree spirit she loved so much in her mother. It's a symbol of hope, resilience, and the enduring beauty that lives on within us.  Our shirts will also be printed in teal, which is the ovarian cancer ribbon color.

This year, when you wear our t-shirt, let it be a reminder of Kim's dazzling spirit, her passion for life, and the love that continues to bloom in her memory.
